On this day in 1999...

We celebrated our wedding anniversary by going to eat at the Oasis. We have not been in years and since Lucien does not recall going there at all we thought it would be fun since the lake has water again and it is just down the road from where we are now living.

STAAR Note

As a former teacher I am not a fan of the STAAR test, but I'm also not one to shield my child from tests. Lucien was very nervous and we did all we could to squash his fears from rumors of the test following you until college, your high school coaches looking to see how you did not the test in 3rd grade and being sent back to 2nd grade. 

Thankfully his teachers encourages parents to write notes to their child. I was thrilled to do such a task. The markers used were smelly markers, so it also smelled yummy upon opening.

2nd Place

The season ended and the Phillies earned their 2nd place trophy. 

End of a Season

The baseball season ended with Lucien's baseball team earning a 2nd place finish. This was a difficult season. Lucien hurt his elbow and had to sit out to heal. He then played with the opposite arm until recovered. He made a few good hits after returning and made some great plays at 1st base by stretching to catch balls and being ready for 3rd strike dropped balls.

Baseball Workout

For several years now we have given Lucien lessons for baseball with coaches who understand the mechanics of baseball to improve a player. Lucien appreciates the attention, and shared knowledge to detail Coach Trev gives him.
